For Chamggae, my furry companion, I recently purchased Dingo Chicken & Daily dog food. I’ve heard that it’s not good for dogs to eat the same type of food all the time, so I buy different kinds of food every six months. DingoNatura is the brand I chose this time.
The 3kg bag cost just over ₩30,000(about $21), which seems like a reasonable price.
The dog on the front of the package is adorable!
Dingo Chicken & Daily is officially distributed in Korea.
There’s an official importer and a Naver store, as well as an official website.
The product description for Dingo Chicken & Daily includes phrases like “gluten-free,” “natural ingredients,” “safe ingredients,” “balanced nutrition,” and “high digestibility.”
It’s common to see such descriptions, but what matters most is the difference you see after feeding it to your dog.
Still, I like the phrases “gluten-free,” “natural ingredients,” and “no preservatives.” As Chamggae gets older, allergies are a growing concern.
When I opened the Dingo Chicken & Daily bag, I was hit with a strong herbal scent.
What was that smell?
I checked the ingredients and found rosemary.
It was the pleasant scent of rosemary. But would dogs like it?
The kibble is quite large.
Most dog food is designed for dogs to gulp down, but Dingo Chicken & Daily is not.
It didn’t feel very greasy, contrary to what the photos might suggest.
Dingo Chicken & Daily Feeding Review
The first thing I noticed was the strong rosemary scent, but Chamggae surprisingly didn’t mind it.
The palatability seems to be good.
I’m not sure about other dogs, but I like that it doesn’t have a strong dog food smell.
I was worried that the kibble might be too big, but Chamggae chews it well.
This could be a good food for dogs who eat too quickly.
Chewing with their molars should help with tartar removal, as mentioned in the description.
The absorption rate seems quite high.
I usually think that single-ingredient foods like this increase the amount of dog poop, but that wasn’t the case with Dingo Chicken & Daily.
The digestibility seems to be very good.
However, Chamggae also eats wet food with this, so it’s not 100% Dingo Chicken & Daily. Still, I’m happy with the amount of poop.
Chamggae and I are approaching our 10th year together.
I feel that dog food has become more diverse and advanced.
I wish I could have found Dingo Natura Chicken & Daily sooner.
