I’ve been happily driving my Chevrolet Orlando since purchasing it in March 2017.
A few days ago, while driving in the rain, the rear window suddenly stopped getting wiped clean.
No matter how much washer fluid I sprayed, visibility through the rear window remained poor, which was quite frustrating.

I wondered what the problem was, and upon inspection, oh my… the rubber on the wiper blade was barely hanging on.
No wonder it wasn’t wiping!
Thinking back, I realized I had never replaced the rear wiper since buying the Orlando.
Using it for over 8 years means it certainly lasted a long time.
Buying an Orlando Rear Wiper
When I looked for a replacement rear wiper, well, there were hardly any options.
It seemed like I pretty much had to get the genuine Chevrolet part for the Orlando rear wiper.
Thinking about it, I don’t recall seeing many rear wipers when buying wipers in the past.
I realized that brands like Bullson or Bosch didn’t seem to sell them.
The genuine Chevrolet rear wiper costs about ₩9,000, or around ₩12,000 including shipping.
I considered buying it, but then I started seeing posts saying it’s much better to switch to a Kia Morning wiper arm.
The idea was that changing to the Kia Picanto wiper arm (replacing the whole arm assembly) would wipe a larger area and allow the arm to be bent away for easier blade replacement.
And guess what? The Kia Picanto wiper arm was selling for only ₩8,700.
Of course, there would be shipping costs, but the fact that the Picanto arm costs almost the same as just the Orlando blade was a bit…
It really highlighted the advantage of Hyundai & Kia motors parts availability and pricing once again.
Should I just switch to the Picanto wiper arm now? I have all the tools… I was contemplating this…
when I found a compatible Orlando rear wiper blade on Coupang for ₩7,500.
And since it’s Coupang, that price included shipping.
So, I decided to buy this compatible rear wiper.
In Korea, I was able to buy a compatible Orlando rear wiper through Coupang. However, if you are outside Korea, you can likely find and purchase one on AliExpress or Amazon.com.
Rainwings Rear Wiper K95
What I bought from Coupang was the Rainwings Rear Wiper K95.
It was the first time I’d heard of the brand, but I saw that Rainwings seems to sell various types of rear wipers.

The Rainwings rear wiper came in a small box.

The side of the box had illustrated instructions for replacing the wiper… but they weren’t applicable to the Orlando.

There was some product description text. I gave it a quick glance and immediately tossed the box. ^^

Taking the rear wiper out of the box, I found it wrapped in plastic.
Hmm, the plastic wasn’t the easy-tear type, so I needed scissors or some force.

Comparing it to the genuine rear wiper, it seemed to be the same size and look very similar.
How to Replace the Orlando Rear Wiper
Normally, you lift the wiper arm away from the glass to replace the blade, but the rear wiper arm doesn’t lift up.
If it doesn’t lift, how do you replace it?
I saw videos on YouTube, and it really couldn’t be simpler.

The method is to hold the wiper blade against the rear window with one hand, and then simply use some force to pull the wiper arm straight off its mounting point with the other hand. It will start to detach.

After removing the wiper blade assembly, I saw it’s simply a push-in type connection.
Anyone can replace it with just a little bit of force.

Here’s a comparison photo of the genuine part and the Rainwings rear wiper I bought.
Yeah, they look practically identical.
Orlando Rear Wipe Replacement Review

After replacing it, well, nothing looks different.
It just looks like I replaced it with another genuine part.
They look the same, but I don’t know if the quality is identical.
Still, maybe it will last for 5 years?
Replacing the Orlando rear wiper is really easy, so it seems fine to just buy either the genuine part or the compatible Rainwings wiper available on Coupang and do it yourself.
As the rainy days might increase, if you haven’t replaced yours yet, it might be a good idea to do it proactively.
